Chris Ripple has spent over 10 years pushing the boundaries of fine art. A self-taught pioneer in the field of landscape photography, he has become synonymous with pristine images of cascading waterfalls, ethereal mountain peaks and peaceful desert canyons.
Chris has been shooting expansive scenes of Mother Nature his whole life. Born in Madang, Papua New Guinea to Australian dignitaries, he never took the gift of life’s beauty for granted. Chris’ catalogue of work can be traced back to the essential moment when, at 8 years of age, the gift of a Brownie Kodak camera from his parents set him on a course for destiny. Since his first, fateful snapshot of a spider web in the family garden, Chris has followed his calling to capture and share the most beautiful places on earth.

It was after a trip to the United States in 1984, that Chris discovered the panoramic camera format, a defining moment in his career. Challenged with the dare to “Go big or go home,” Chris did both. For the next two decades,
would travel back and forth between remote destinations across the world and his native Australia, honing his craft and establishing his prominent position in the world of fine art photography.
Chris took a giant leap forward in 2015, taking on a massive project now known as “Spirit of South America.” After fifty thousand miles and 70,000 images, Chris had revealed landscapes from along the western countries of South America, completing a significant challenge. From there, it was only onward and upward for this remarkable success story.
It was on the heels of these major accomplishments that Chris jumped straight into the heart of mainstream culture by starring in the NBC-produced TV series, “From the Edge with Chris Ripple.” He had officially become a household name.
