A novel by Judith Hollinshed.  Relieving girl reporter is the protagonist and she’s at odds with the “exploitative” planter set but accidentally falls for one, called Ian. So the plantation buy-back is involved. Meantime she messes things up because she doesn’t understand highland ways and kiap Graeme tries to sort her out and falls in love with her. Locals who are after Ian’s plantation start tribal fight so oli’s in it too – quite a bit in fact.
